The West

Steina's camera turns to the starkly beautiful American Southwest, tracing the contours of a landscape at once devoid of people and haunted by their presence: empty, maze-like ruins of a vanished Native American civilization; banks of space telescopes slowly scanning the heavens for electromagnetic signals. Accompanied by Woody Vasulka's eerie electronic soundtrack, the landscape pulses with spectral colors and the ghosts of that which is not seen.
