A Kinetic History: The EAI Archives Online is a digital resource that celebrates a remarkable artistic and cultural legacy. EAI is committed to preserving and providing online access to our extensive print archives of rare historical materials. This project charts the history of EAI from the late 1960s, and illuminates the evolution of the emergent video art movement in both its cultural and historical context. Primary documents (posters, catalogues, newspaper articles, video footage, photos and other ephemera) as well as contextualizing essays trace a rich and eclectic trajectory of art, artists and ideas — from kinetic art to contemporary moving image media. This "living archive" will continue to expand, linking the history of the media arts to its future.
