Curating New Media Seminar, BALTIC

In May of 2001, as part of BALTIC's pre-opening programme, CRUMB presented its first seminar, Curating New Media.ÊAn international group of new media curators and artists participated in a three-day seminar in Gateshead, UK to discuss salient issues around the production, exhibition, funding, and archiving of new media, with much of the discussion focussed on net art and museum practice.ÊParticipants included Vuk Cosic, Tamas Banovich, Mark Tribe, Jon Thomson and Alison Craighead, and Iliyana Nedkova.Ê Transcripts from this early and important seminar on curating new media art are available online, and a book of the proceedings was published by BALTIC in their B.Read series.ÊÊ
